Together we can create a wilder future
As a wildlife charity we believe that by working with businesses who share our concern for the environment we can achieve more for wildlife together than we would on our own.
We welcome support from businesses that share our passion for Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull’s wild spaces.
We want to understand your business and your motivations for collaboration. We will listen closely to your goals and ideas and find the best way that we can work together. Then we can identify the most impactful way that to help you take action for wildlife and make space for nature.
As part of #TeamWilder, we aim to inspire at least 25% of our community to join us in dedicating 30% of land for nature’s recovery across the county.

How businesses have supported us…
Take a look at how businesses have supported The Wildlife Trusts across the country, including local support in Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull.
Severn Trent Water funding nature-based solutions
Severn Trent Water have been working with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and 9 Wildlife Trusts that operate across its area since 2018. To help meet the targets set by their regulator, they support biodiversity enhancement projects and nature-based solution work. Severn Trent have recognised that it is more cost effective to invest in nature than traditional hard engineering.
They also have a ‘Community Champions’ programme, which enables every member of their staff to volunteer 2 days per year to support Trusts across their area.
Local company CEWE encourage photographers to connect with nature
CEWE are an international photography print company, based locally in Warwick, who are committed to increasing their green credentials and reducing their impact on the environment.
CEWE have worked in partnership with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust to inspire their customers to connect with nature through photography by entering their wildlife images into a ‘Wild Images -People & Nature’ category of their photography competition. The local entries were developed into an outdoor photography installation at our Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve that celebrates our local wildlife. The image series provides information about the creatures that live on the reserve, and links to actions that people can take to support wildlife.
CEWE also run sustainability days for their staff that have been supported by the Trust, with a focus on nature connection and health and wellbeing.
Aviva restoring 1,100 hectares of Atlantic Forest
As a movement, our aims are ambitious. One of the biggest corporate partnerships within The Wildlife Trusts is the restoration of Atlantic Forest, funded by Aviva.
British rainforests have been largely destroyed over many hundreds of years for timber, farming, transport networks and development. In 2023 The Wildlife Trusts and Aviva agreed a £38million programme as part of Aviva’s Net Zero 2040 ambition.
Over the course of the programme, 1,175 hectares of rainforest will be restored along the west coast of the UK, with an estimated 222,000 tonnes of carbon sequestered by 2050, doubling to 440,000 tonnes by 2060.
Aviva is taking a long-term view, investing in restoring nature to store carbon 20 years before the carbon associated with Aviva’s potential future investments goes into the atmosphere.

Clear Channel: Green-roofed bus stops
The advertising organisation Clear Channel has collaborated with the Trusts in one of its most innovative partnerships to date by creating 150 ‘bee bus stops’.
Pollinating insects have declined by as much as 60% in the last 20 years. Urban areas especially often lack flowers these insects need to thrive.
To help solve this problem, local councils funded Clear Channel to create green-roofed bus stops, to provide habitat for insect in towns and cities.
The company also supported the Wildlife Trust with ‘value in kind advertising’ which was valued at over £1million.
Jordans Cereals making space for nature
Farmland covers more 70% of Warwickshire’s land area and farmers are key to helping nature’s recovery.  As part of our partnership with Jordans Cereals, we support farmers make more space for nature on their farms, creating more sustainable agriculture.
Nationally there are 34 farmers who grow oats for Jordans, farming over 16,500 hectares of countryside. In Warwickshire we worked with 4 farmers who grow oats for Jordans. Every Jordans farmer works with experts from their local Wildlife Trust to support wildlife on at least 10% of land on each farm, but many of these dedicated farmers provide well beyond that figure!
Our Principles of Engagement
We are facing an ecological and climate emergency, and urgent action is needed. The Wildlife Trusts are leading a movement for change, where there is more space for nature and more people on nature’s side.
The following principles guide our approach to this work…
-
We want to celebrate industry leaders and help others to enable them to meet their aspirations in relation to their environmental impact.
-
To address the environmental challenges we all face, we want to focus our efforts by working with partners interested to support at least one of our three strategic objectives [link to local Wildlife Trust strategy]:
1. nature in recovery
2. people taking meaningful action for wildlife
3. nature playing a central and valued role in helping to address local and global problems.
-
Collaboration is most effective where we factor impact, scale, sustainability and legacy to select relationships which align with our vision.
-
We will use our collaborative approach, knowledge and expertise to support your business or project to drive environmental change and reduce its negative impacts. We retain our independence and will provide you with candid and constructive guidance.
-
We understand that both parties will want to undertake thorough due diligence processes before entering into any partnership.
By working with us, your business will be able to demonstrate its commitment to supporting our high impact, local action, which tackles issues that affect us all. You will join a growing movement for change that is creating a better world for everyone.
