With support from Councillor Howard Roberts and Warwickshire County Council’s Councillor’s Grant Fund, the Dunsmore team have over 200 oak seedlings that need looking after until they are big enough to be planted somewhere within the Dunsmore Living Landscape area.
The acorns were collected from local oaks. They’re going to be available on Saturday 21st March at Brandon Marsh between 1pm – 3pm, when the team will be potting them on and providing more information on how to grow oaks from acorns. If people would like to look after one (or more!) they should contact Dan at Daniel.Loveard@wkwt.org.uk One or more baby oaks can be put aside for later collection if people aren’t able to make the 21st. Again, contact Dan to discuss collection arrangements.
The team also need pots, lots of pots!
With over 200 seedlings in trays (228 at the last count!) the Dunsmore team are also in need of pots to transfer them into. Pots need to be 20+cm deep to allow the roots to develop. Rose pots are especially ideal. People can drop them off at Brandon Marsh any time between now and March 21st.
