About us

Warwickshire Wildlife Trust is the leading local independent conservation organisation. Our mission is to bring people closer to nature and create a land rich in wildlife.

Supported by our passionate members and dedicated volunteers we are working to bring about nature’s recovery across Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull through practical action, education and influencing behavioural change. To achieve our mission, we're working in partnership with local councils, farmers, businesses and communities to make Warwickshire a better place for wildlife and people.

Back in 1970, local people gathered to help wildlife thrive on our doorstep. During this time we have grown from 2 to over 65 nature reserves and now have over 29,000 supporters. We believe in a wilder future for Warwickshire for everyone. Read more of our history here

The UK is one of the most nature depleted countries on earth.  We’re acting now to bring about nature’s recovery in our area. There are many benefits of creating Living Landscapes including:

  • Abundant wildlife in towns, cities and rural areas
  • Good for our wellbeing
  • Wildlife can move
  • Natural flood management
  • Better air quality and reduced climate change

As a charity we work to create a Living Landscape by:

Managing Nature Reserves - with over 65 nature reserves across Warwickshire, a large portion of our role is the management of these havens for wildlife and people. Find out more about our nature reserves.

Engaging communities - working on community projects, like Green and Healthy Ufton, helps us to nurture positive relationships between people and natural spaces.

Supporting volunteers - we are indebted to our incredible volunteers who underpin every aspect of our work from conservation to administration. We’re always looking for new volunteers, so why not take a look at some of our opportunities?

Educating - Our educational activities are delivered to thousands of children every year, as are guided walks, talks and events for people of all ages.

Campaigning - The Trust provides a strong local voice on behalf of the environment, protecting threatened places and rare species.
