In 2024 our #TeamWilder Green Conversations kicked off in Stratford. Throughout February and March, we took our conversations all around Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull and had over 200 people come along to be part of #TeamWilder. A huge thank you to all who came and took part.
The sessions had great energy and it was exciting to be in rooms of people who share a passion for the environment, but are also concerned about its future. We heard some fantastic stories about what people are already doing and we really started to see how everyone’s actions, no matter how the size can contribute to putting nature into recovery. We listened to people’s concerns and then, together, discussed our dreams for nature and the ways we can make them happen.
Common themes
Some common themes emerged; what we love about nature is how it makes us feel and how good it is for our health and wellbeing, as well as the awe it inspires as we see, experience, learn and connect to it. Common concerns were around climate change, farming and food production, pollution, planning and development, and the disconnection of children and young people from nature, amongst many others.
Working together
The need to work together as individuals, across communities and with others from the public and private sector, came out strongly in all of the Green Conversation events. The need for us all to work together to create a movement for change and put nature into recovery is critical. As a result of these conversations, we have been looking at the support requests generated to see where the Trust can help, and have been planning our next conversations around the concerns and ideas raised.
We look forward to bringing more people together and inspiring action, so we can work together as a collective to get our voices heard and better decisions made for the environment. #TeamWilder.
